The needs

Gathering all document usage around a single EDM tool

The document extranet project is part of a wider implementation of EDM in all Biogaran's activities. Biogaran's partners and professional customers need to have permanent access to all the documents that concern them: commercial and administrative documents, but also and above all documents relating to the products they sell. In a regulated sector such as pharmaceuticals, the quality and accuracy of this information is essential.
There was therefore a need to consolidate all dispersed document use into a single solution shared by all staff.

Essential EDM and CMS expertise for Biogaran websites

The successful integration of the extranet required both EDM skills and skills in the CMS solution used by Biogaran for its websites.
The EDM - Extranet gateway also required precautions in terms of security (authentication) and scalability to ensure a perfect user experience (both internal and external).

Choosing an EDM building block (Hyland Alfresco) was obvious. It had to be independent, but have connectors to all the other IS solutions, such as SAP or Salesforce:
