Arkema is a French chemicals company with over 20,000 employees in more than 50 different countries. To better serve its B2B clients, Arkema decided to roll out an E-commerce website selling its hero brands, and particularly BOSTIK.
A first step towards a core model
Smile needed to prioritise the Arkema MVP’s functional scope to maximise E-commerce sales with a limited turnaround time.
A successful MVP (Minimum Viable Product) would then pave the way for integrating the OroCommerce platform into the group-wide client portal architecture and rolling it out worldwide.
Building a robust, industrialised base for other brands
Smile implemented an Oro Cloud platform for the MVP underpinned by native features to accelerate the roll-out stage. A UX phase to optimise the client experience and to create a reusable design for future deployments when using the OroCommerce native features was then launched.
The initial stage has allowed us to establish a strong, industrial foundation that is prepared to receive the Group's upcoming brands. This will be achieved with a short time-to-market and a controlled operating budget.
Successful deployment of the B2B MVP with OroCommerce
The MVP project demonstrated that digital is a business lever and validated the interest of distributor customers in this new order-taking channel in an international context. The success of this project has laid the foundations for phase 2.
The E-commerce platform is now global and carries the Group's brands.
