WedoLow, France's specialist in embedded software optimisation, and Smile are combining their expertise to meet the performance challenges of critical systems.

WedoLow, a software publisher specialising in automated performance optimisation for embedded C/C++ applications, announces the signing of a strategic distribution partnership with Smile ECS (Embedded & Connected Systems), the Smile Group's centre of excellence dedicated to embedded systems and connected objects. This alliance aims to accelerate the adoption of software optimisation solutions by manufacturers facing performance constraints in the automotive, aerospace, defence, Industry 4.0 and consumer electronics sectors.

Faced with the growing complexity of embedded software, manufacturers are struggling to maintain optimal performance while complying with ever-increasing hardware, energy and time constraints. It is with this in mind that WedoLow and Smile ECS have formed a partnership that will give manufacturers facing performance constraints easier access to next-generation software optimisation tools.

Software is revolutionising every sector, with applications becoming increasingly resource-intensive, heavy and complex. Today, some products contain several million lines of code, and this significant volume is forcing us to rethink our development methods and practices. This partnership with Smile is fully in line with a shared vision of controlling environmental and economic impact.

A technological response to critical embedded challenges

Drawing on more than 20 years of French research, deep tech company WedoLow provides a concrete solution to this problem with its beLow software suite, which automatically identifies and corrects critical inefficiencies in embedded C/C++ code. Thanks to seamless integration with CI/CD processes, development teams can generate optimised code that is perfectly sized for their hardware, while reducing energy consumption, CPU load and memory footprint.

Already adopted in critical projects (ADAS, BMS, satellite image processing, etc.), the results obtained by WedoLow's customers demonstrate concrete and measurable gains:

  • 40% reduction in latency on a powertrain,
  • up to 96% performance gain on a battery management system.
  • 17% reduction in CPU load on an in-vehicle infotainment system.
  • 45% reduction in execution time on a satellite image processing system.
  • 40% reduction in execution time on a network frame processing and filtering system for internet equipment.

A strategic partnership dedicated to technical excellence

Smile ECS, a leading player in embedded software development and IoT solutions, is expanding its offering with beLow, a solution dedicated to optimising the performance of embedded systems. Smile is strengthening its software performance offering, thereby responding to strong market demand: fully exploiting the capabilities of existing microcontrollers and processors, while reducing the environmental footprint of products.

This collaboration enables Smile ECS customers to benefit from a comprehensive approach combining expertise in open source embedded systems development with WedoLow's automated optimisation capabilities.

The partnership is part of a joint approach to digital sobriety and resource optimisation, meeting the expectations of manufacturers keen to control the environmental and economic impact of their software developments.

The partnership between Smile and WedoLow is a significant step forward. This collaboration strengthens our ability to support our clients in achieving even more sustainable and efficient software engineering.
