The need

Aiming for one million connected users

Our client, a leading sports equipment brand, aims to enhance its users' sporting experiences through technology. Their range of electronic products includes over 200 items covering 30 different sports, from water sports and fitness to hiking.

Connectivity opens up new horizons for athletes.
Our client is determined to meet the IoT challenge with the ambition of reaching one million connected users by 2027. To differentiate its equipment (treadmills, electric bikes), the strategic challenge is to offer high-value-added connected services. The issue: assembling an expert team with end-to-end IoT mastery, from embedded systems to the cloud.

To respect professional secrecy and confidentiality agreements, the identity of our clients and certain technical details are intentionally anonymized. We primarily work on strategic, high-value-added innovation projects, for which discretion is essential to preserving our clients' competitive advantage.

The Challenge

From embedded systems to the cloud: overcoming technical complexity

The major challenge was to deploy a seamless international user experience within a particularly ambitious timeframe. In a complex global supply chain environment, our teams demonstrated remarkable responsiveness in integrating hardware components as they were developed. This project required an agile transformation from prototype versions to a robust industrial architecture, thus ensuring the long-term viability and reliability of the overall solution.

Our approach

An integrated and multidisciplinary R&D approach

  • Integration of multidisciplinary expertise within the R&D department.
  • Development of embedded firmware (C, FreeRTOS, Zephyr) for 4G, GPS and Bluetooth communications.
  • Implementation of performance testing protocols and adoption of HIL (Hardware In the Loop) approaches.
  • Design of a mobile SDK and implementation of application development (iOS, Android).
  • Definition of Cloud architecture (AWS, GCP) and implementation of secure integration (PKI, HSM).
  • Data exchange flow management (New Data Paradigm standard).
  • Agile deployment of innovative proofs of concept (POCs).
The result

The successful industrialization of a sporting vision

Our collaboration enabled us to industrialize the client's vision while respecting deadlines, with the launch of next-generation connected bikes and treadmills. The key element is the complete reliability of the connected ecosystem thanks to the new data exchange format (New Data Paradigm), a technical achievement praised by the brand's internal teams.

Our embedded and cloud expertise allows us to offer customized solutions. Recently, we conducted a rapid deployment project to implement a proof of concept (POC) using computer vision, aimed at improving after-sales service support. Furthermore, our expertise with Zephyr enabled us to quickly develop and implement the data acquisition tools necessary for evaluating the performance of various sports equipment.
