Before the implementation of ICLink, ICL faced significant challenges in managing its global e-commerce operations. The company needed a digital solution that could accommodate the complexity of international markets, from diverse pricing models to compliance with regional regulations. Additionally, customers expected a seamless online experience with intuitive navigation, real-time tracking, and personalized interactions. However, a critical challenge was ensuring that ICLink would not only function as an external customer-facing platform but also integrate effortlessly into internal workflows, allowing sales teams, customer service, and logistics to work efficiently. Without a scalable and integrated solution, ICL risked inefficiencies, missed opportunities, and fragmented customer experiences.

Effectively integrating ICLink into internal workflows and customer experiences

ICLink is built on OroCommerce, a robust e-commerce platform designed for B2B transactions. The full implementation of ICLink was carried out by Smile, ensuring a seamless integration with ICL’s existing IT ecosystem.

ICL partnered with Smile to ensure  objectives regarding external usability and internal adoption were met during the implementation phase. More than just an e-commerce platform, ICLink is transforming the way agriculture operates by digitizing the supply chain, optimizing logistics, and empowering farmers with real-time data on orders, planning and delivery. A key factor in the success of the project was securing buy-in from stakeholders across various departments. To achieve this, Smile and ICL designed and executed a structured approach that prioritized collaboration, communication, and training.

Beyond internal adoption, the platform was meticulously embedded into the broader customer journey. ICLink supports customers with higher yields and sustainable results. Resulting in, at the end of the day, superior customer experience and much better customer retention. The design and functionality of ICLink were tailored to provide an intuitive experience, ensuring that customers could easily navigate the platform, place orders, and track deliveries with minimal friction. By integrating ICLink with existing ERP and CRM systems, ICL created a unified ecosystem that facilitated order management, inventory tracking, and financial reporting, ultimately improving efficiency across all operations.

The results

Transforming agriculture with ICLink

ICLink has now been rolled out to the following regions: France, Italy, Poland, UK, Germany, Benelux, India, and Mexico. Additionally, there is a specialty store in Japan: Kyushu, dedicated to direct sales to growers. The successful implementation of ICLink resulted in significant improvements across multiple business areas:
